Katina is a product of the Roanoke County Public School System. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Liberty University.
She is currently an Operations Leader/Consultant for Allstate Insurance Company, where she has accountability for three areas: Business Intelligence & Analytics; Capacity Management; and the Policy Administration Core Desk. During her tenure at Allstate, Katina has had the privilege of leading employees and leaders both onshore and offshore. She also effectively served as an HDI Help Desk and Diversity facilitator. She was also co-editor for the Roanoke’s office, local publication, The Spirit.
Katina has lived in Charleston, SC., Prince George’s County, MD and Harrisonburg, VA. She also held job assignments in Dallas, TX and Chicago, IL. She is well-versed with mass communication and business. She served as an intern for WSLS 10 and a freelance writer for The Roanoke Times. While freelancing, she also served as a manager for Allstate.
Katina began as a frontline, associate manager and was promoted three times prior to her current assignment due to her hard work, commitment and effective execution. To further leverage her knowledge of business and leadership, Katina partnered with her husband to begin the Hamlar Enterprises, Hamlar Properties and BallyComm Telecommunications. She serves as the company’s vice president and provides insight regarding marketing and business strategies.
She is a strong people leader, and she has a love for the community. Katina is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc (a community-service organization). and the Rescue Mission’s Eve Network. She is also a facilitator for Junior Achievement’s elementary curriculum and directs three choirs’, on the finance committee, treasurer, and youth leader for Bethlehem Baptist Church. Katina served as an in-school mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters for several years. She also participated on the United Way’s High School Graduation Team because she has a deep passion for education and our youth.
